Shoulder Pain Physiotherapy in Castlewellan, County Down
The shoulder is one of the most complex joints in the body — and one of the most commonly injured, particularly in people who play sport, train at the gym, or work in physically demanding jobs. At Better Days Physiotherapy, we assess and treat shoulder pain with the same structured approach applied to every injury: find out what is actually happening, address both the symptom and the cause, and give you a plan that works.

How we assess and treat shoulder pain
Shoulder problems are often misdiagnosed or poorly managed because the shoulder's range of motion makes it difficult to assess without a thorough clinical examination. Declan's assessment includes a full movement screen, strength testing, and — where relevant — neural tension testing to rule out neck involvement.
Shoulder treatment at Better Days typically involves a combination of hands-on therapy, specific strength and stability exercises, and guidance on returning safely to the activities your shoulder pain is currently stopping you from doing.
The goal is not just to reduce your pain. It is to rebuild the strength and control that means it does not come back.
Declan's experience with shoulder injuries
Declan has worked with shoulder injuries extensively throughout his career — in NHS musculoskeletal settings, in elite sport (MMA, basketball, and track and field), and in military rehabilitation. He holds an MSc in Sports and Exercise Physiotherapy and is registered with the HCPC and CSP.
